Child Parent Play Therapy

Do you ever wonder what your child is thinking or feeling? Are you struggling to set healthy limits while maintaining connection with your child?

In child parent play therapy, I teach parents how to have special, structured, one on one play times with their child, either in home or in my office. Adults talk about their experiences and what’s on their minds, and children use play to express what they think and how they feel. Toys are their words and play becomes their language. In special playtimes, parents learn to respond empathetically to their child’s feelings, build their child’s self-esteem, help their child learn self-control and self-responsibility, understand their thoughts and feelings and set therapeutic limits when needed.

These sessions can then be conducted either in my office in Vancouver or in your home and videoed so the therapist can watch with the parent in session.  The entire process can be done virtually and requires a minimum of 6 sessions.
